DETROIT - The Detroit Pistons have announced the hiring of Jerod M. Meister as their new head coach. Meister, who has 15 years of coaching experience, most recently served as an assistant coach for the Denver Nuggets. He has also worked as an assistant coach for the Indiana Pacers and the Milwaukee Bucks.
Meister is known for his defensive prowess, and he is expected to bring a new level of intensity to the Pistons. The Pistons have struggled in recent years, failing to make the playoffs since 2009. Meister will be tasked with turning the Pistons into a playoff contender once again.
