Jayson Tatum hit a game-winning three-pointer with 1.3 seconds remaining to give the Boston Celtics a 119-116 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night.
Tatum's heroics came after the Grizzlies had rallied from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to take a 116-114 lead with 1:13 remaining.
The Celtics got the ball to Tatum on the ensuing possession, he drove to the right wing and pulled up for a three-pointer. The shot was off the mark and Robert Williams III grabbed the offensive rebound.
Tatum's heroics sends Celtics to their fifth straight win
With just 0.5 seconds remaining, Tatum got the ball back and pulled up for another three-pointer. This time, the shot was on target and the Celtics escaped Memphis with a hard-fought victory.
Tatum finished the game with a team-high 29 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Jaylen Brown added 23 points, while Williams had 11 points and 12 rebounds.
The Celtics have now won five straight games and are 10-3 on the season. The Grizzlies have lost two straight games and are 7-6.
