Governor Visits Major Companies, Promotes Nebraska
The Czech Republic portion of Governor Pillen's international trade mission wrapped up on Tuesday with visits to Doosan Bobcat, Skoda Transportation, and Clarios. Doosan Bobcat, headquartered in Dobris, Czech Republic, is a leading producer of compact equipment, including skid-steer loaders, compact track loaders, and mini-excavators. Skoda Transportation, headquartered in Plzen, Czech Republic, is a major manufacturer of locomotives, trams, and trolleybuses.
Bilateral Meetings Focus on Energy & Defense
Clarios, headquartered in Prague, Czech Republic, is a leading global provider of automotive batteries and advanced energy storage solutions. During his visit to Skoda Transportation, Governor Pillen emphasized the importance of developing Nebraska's rail infrastructure. At Clarios, he discussed the potential for collaboration in the field of electric vehicles. In addition to his meetings with business leaders, Governor Pillen also met with high-level Czech government officials to discuss issues of mutual interest, including energy and defense.
Mission Continues in Germany
The trade mission will continue in Germany this week. Governor Pillen will meet with representatives from major German companies, including Siemens, Volkswagen, and BASF. Governor Pillen said he was encouraged by the interest Czech companies have in investing in Nebraska and looks forward to continuing discussions during the remainder of his trade mission. The trade mission is a key part of Governor Pillen's plan to grow Nebraska's economy and create jobs. The Czech Republic is Nebraska's sixth-largest export market, and Germany is Nebraska's 10th-largest export market.
