High Humidity, Slight Chance of Storms Today
Scattered rain showers and a possible thunderstorm could make for a dreary day in our area today.
But the clouds should clear by tomorrow, forecasters say.
Today's forecast calls for a 40% chance of rain and thunderstorms, mainly before 1 p.m. The high will be near 86 degrees with heat index values as high as 95 degrees and humidity levels near 80%.
Tonight, expect partly cloudy skies and a low around 73 degrees. The chance of rain is 20%.
Tuesday should be mostly sunny, with a high near 88 degrees and humidity levels dropping to around 60%.
The rest of the week looks mostly clear, with highs in the upper 80s and lows in the mid-60s.
Here are some tips to beat the heat and humidity:
- Drink plenty of fluids, even if you don't feel thirsty.
- Avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day.
- Wear loose-fitting, light-colored clothing.
- Take cool showers or baths.
- Spend time in air-conditioned places.
If you experience any symptoms of heat-related illness, such as dizziness, nausea, or vomiting, seek medical attention immediately.
