Howard County farm among 41 inducted into Arkansas Century Farm Program

The Howard County farm of Buddy and Becky Nance is amongst 41 that will be inducted into the Arkansas Century Farm Program later this month. The program began in 1994 and has more than 800 farms with a combined 500,000 acres.
Qualifications
Arkansas farms must be owned by the same family for at least 100 years and consist of at least 10 acres or produce at least $1,000 worth of agricultural products per year.
Lineage
The Nances are descendants of early Howard County pioneers, including Thomas Jefferson Nance, who settled in the area in 1873.
Farm Progress
The Nance farm has evolved over the years, with the current owners focusing on cattle and hay production. The farm has also been recognized for its conservation efforts.
