Jalen Johnson Finishes with 18, Georgia Tech Holds Off ACC Foe NC State
Georgia Tech overcame a 10-point deficit and held on to defeat NC State 74-73 on Saturday afternoon inside McCamish Pavilion.
After NC State jumped out to an early advantage, Georgia Tech rallied back to take a six-point lead into halftime, 38-32.
NC State made a late push and took a 73-71 lead with 1:32 remaining.
But Georgia Tech's Jalen Johnson scored the game-winning basket with just 10.7 seconds left on the clock.
Johnson led Georgia Tech with 18 points, while NC State's Jarkel Joiner led all scorers with 21 points.
The victory was Georgia Tech's third straight and improved its record to 11-8 overall and 5-3 in the ACC.
NC State fell to 11-9 overall and 3-6 in the ACC.
Georgia Tech will return to action on Tuesday, Feb. 7, when it hosts Virginia Tech at McCamish Pavilion.
NC State will return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 8, when it hosts Wake Forest at PNC Arena.
