Jalen Johnson News: Records triple-double in win
Atlanta Hawks rookie Jalen Johnson made history on Wednesday night, recording the first triple-double of his career in a 132-118 win over the San Antonio Spurs.
Johnson finished the game with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists, becoming just the third Hawks rookie to ever record a triple-double. The other two rookies to accomplish the feat are Trae Young and John Collins.
Johnson's triple-double was a key factor in the Hawks' victory, as he helped the team control the tempo of the game and get easy baskets in transition. He also played a key role in the Hawks' defense, helping to limit the Spurs to just 118 points.
Johnson's performance was even more impressive considering that he was playing against one of the best teams in the Western Conference. The Spurs are currently third in the Western Conference standings and have one of the most experienced rosters in the league.
Johnson's triple-double is a sign of his potential as a player. He is a versatile forward who can score, rebound, and pass at a high level. He is also a very good defender. If he can continue to develop, he could become one of the best players in the NBA.
The Hawks are now 13-14 on the season and are in eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings. They will look to continue their winning ways on Friday night when they host the Oklahoma City Thunder.
