Kentucky basketball rebounds against Bucknell, looks ahead to Duke
Kentucky basketball is looking ahead to its game against Duke on Saturday after rebounding against Bucknell on Tuesday.
The Wildcats beat the Bison 64-52, in a game that was much closer than the final score indicated. Bucknell led by as many as 11 points in the first half, but Kentucky slowly chipped away at the lead and eventually took control of the game in the second half.
Oscar Tshiebwe led the way for Kentucky with 21 points and 19 rebounds, and he was a force on the boards all night long. Antonio Reeves added 14 points, and Jacob Toppin had 12 points and 6 rebounds.
Kentucky is now 7-2 on the season, and the Wildcats will face their toughest test of the year on Saturday when they play Duke in Indianapolis.
The Blue Devils are ranked No. 7 in the country, and they have one of the most talented rosters in college basketball. Kentucky will need to play its best game of the year in order to beat Duke, but the Wildcats are confident that they can get the job done.
"We know that Duke is a great team, but we're not afraid of them," said Tshiebwe. "We're going to go out there and play our game, and we're going to see what happens."
Kentucky coach John Calipari said that he was pleased with the way his team rebounded against Bucknell, but he knows that the Wildcats will need to be even better on the boards against Duke.
"We're going to have to rebound the basketball," Calipari said. "Duke is one of the best rebounding teams in the country, so we're going to have to be physical and we're going to have to box out.
"If we can rebound the basketball, we'll have a chance to win the game."
