The Kentucky Wildcats clinched their 16th Southeastern Conference Tournament title on Sunday, March 12, 2023, with a thrilling 82-65 victory over the Tennessee Volunteers at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Wildcats now hold the record for the most SEC Tournament titles, surpassing the 15 won by the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Kentucky was led by Oscar Tshiebwe, who had 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Antonio Reeves added 19 points and Cason Wallace contributed 16 points.
The Wildcats, who are now 27-6 on the season, earned the SEC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and will be one of the top seeds in the field of 68.
Kentucky has won the SEC Tournament seven times in the past 10 years and has reached the NCAA Tournament title game eight times under head coach John Calipari.
The Wildcats will now turn their attention to the NCAA Tournament, where they will look to add to their record total of eight national championships.
