No. 19 Kentucky pulled off a major upset in the 2024 Champions Classic, defeating No. 6 Duke 71-69 on Tuesday night. The Wildcats trailed by 10 points with just over five minutes remaining in the second half, but rallied to take the lead with just seconds remaining.
Oscar Tshiebwe led the way for Kentucky with 22 points and 18 rebounds, while Antonio Reeves added 16 points. Jeremy Roach hit the game-winning three-pointer with just seconds remaining.
Paolo Banchero led Duke with 22 points, while Dariq Whitehead added 14 points. The Blue Devils shot just 38.5% from the field and 25% from three-point range.
No. 1 Kansas Jayhawks Top No. 10 Michigan State Spartans 87-74 In Champions Classic
In the other game of the Champions Classic, No. 1 Kansas defeated No. 10 Michigan State 87-74. The Jayhawks led by just five points at halftime, but pulled away in the second half to secure the victory.
Jalen Wilson led Kansas with 22 points and 10 rebounds, while Gradey Dick added 19 points. Kevin McCullar Jr. chipped in with 16 points.
Tyson Walker led Michigan State with 21 points, while Joey Hauser added 17 points. The Spartans shot just 39.6% from the field and 28.6% from three-point range.
