Kevin Love to Join Detroit Pistons After Trade from Cleveland Cavaliers, Kyle Singler to Move to Oklahoma City

Veteran Forward Departs from Cavs After Nine Seasons

In a significant move that shakes up the Eastern Conference landscape, the Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to trade eight-time All-Star Kevin Love to the Detroit Pistons for a package centered around former Pistons lottery pick Luke Kennard, sources with direct knowledge of the deal told ESPN.

The trade marks the end of Love's nine-season tenure in Cleveland, where he helped form one of the NBA's most formidable trios alongside LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. Together, they led the Cavaliers to their first NBA championship in 2016.

Love, 32, has averaged 17.6 points and 10.9 rebounds per game over his career. He is a five-time All-Star and was named to the All-NBA Second Team in 2014.

Kyle Singler Joins Former Team in Oklahoma City

In a separate deal, the Pistons are also sending veteran forward Kyle Singler to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for a future second-round pick, sources told ESPN.

Singler, 33, played for the Thunder from 2015 to 2019 and was a key member of their team that reached the Western Conference Finals in 2016.

Singler has averaged 6.8 points and 3.9 rebounds per game over his career. He is a career 37.8% three-point shooter.
