Lawrence, defense shine in No. 20 Wildcats' win over Wofford

Wildcats improve to 3-1, notch third win in a row

Lawrence throws for 303 yards, 3 TDs; defense holds Wofford to 176 total yards

No. 20 Kentucky notched its third straight win on Saturday, cruising past Wofford 38-17 at Kroger Field.

Quarterback Will Levis was efficient through the air, completing 20-of-29 passes for 303 yards and three touchdowns.

The Wildcats' defense was also impressive, holding Wofford to just 176 total yards and forcing three turnovers, with safety Tyrell Ajian getting a key late interception.

"Our defense played really well today," said Kentucky coach Mark Stoops. "They were physical, they made tackles, and they forced some turnovers."

Kentucky took control of the game early, with Levis connecting with wide receiver Dane Key on a 43-yard touchdown pass on the Wildcats' first drive.

The Wildcats would add two more touchdowns in the first half, with Levis finding tight end Jordan Dingle for a 10-yard score and running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. punching it in from one yard out. Wofford managed just one field goal in the first half and trailed 24-3 entering the break.

The script didn't change much in the second half, with Kentucky continuing to add to its lead. Levis hit Barion Brown for a 6-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter, and Rodriguez added another rushing touchdown in the fourth.

With the win, Kentucky improves to 3-1 on the season. The Wildcats will be back in action next Saturday when they travel to Gainesville to take on the No. 10 Florida Gators.
