Oregon Ducks Thrash Montana Grizzlies 79-48
Ducks Dominate From Start to Finish in Rout

The Oregon Ducks put on a show at home, dismantling the Montana Grizzlies 79-48 to open their 2024-25 season on Tuesday night at Matthew Knight Arena. Oregon looked sharp from the outset, jumping out to a 12-0 lead. The Ducks' defense was stifling, holding Montana to just 2-of-14 shooting in the opening minutes. Montana finally got on the board with a layup by Brandon Whitney at the 15:54 mark. But Oregon continued to pour it on, extending its advantage to 22-9 by the midway mark of the half. The Grizzlies cut the lead to 10 points, 29-19, with just under eight minutes to go before halftime. But the Ducks responded with a 10-0 run to take a commanding 39-19 lead. Oregon went into the break leading 41-23. The Ducks shot 53.8% from the field in the first half, while holding Montana to just 31.3%. The second half was more of the same, as Oregon continued to build on its lead. The Ducks led by as many as 33 points, 72-39, with just under eight minutes to go in the game. Montana never threatened in the second half, as Oregon cruised to a 79-48 victory.The Ducks were led by Quincy Guerrier's 16 points. Will Richardson added 14 points and Brennan Rigsby had 13 points.
Montana was led by Josh Bannan's 12 points.
With the win, Oregon improves to 1-0 on the season. The Ducks will host Weber State on Friday, Nov. 11, at Matthew Knight Arena.
