Pistons Win With Heat in Overtime
With a Crucial Three-Pointer at the Buzzer
Detroit (10-41) snapped their four-game losing streak on Tuesday night with a thrilling 113-110 victory over the Miami Heat (29-17) in overtime.
The Pistons trailed by five points with just over a minute remaining in regulation, but a pair of free throws by Jaden Ivey and a three-pointer by Isaiah Livers brought them within two. After the Heat missed a shot, Livers was fouled and hit one of two free throws to tie the game with 11.8 seconds left.
In overtime, the Pistons took the lead on a three-pointer by Saddiq Bey, and they held on for the win. Bey led the Pistons with 26 points, while Livers added 22 and Ivey had 21.
Victor Oladipo Leads Heat with 29 Points
Victor Oladipo led the Heat with 29 points, while Jimmy Butler added 25 and Bam Adebayo had 20. But the Heat were unable to close out the game in regulation, and they fell to 1-3 in overtime games this season.
The Pistons' win was their first over a team with a winning record this season. It was also their first overtime win since March 8, 2022, against the Charlotte Hornets.
The Pistons will look to build on their win when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night. The Heat will return home to face the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night.
