Prithvi Shaw named in Mumbai probables for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy
Mumbai selector wants to give him a chance to score runs and get back in form
The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is scheduled to run from 11th October to 5th November.
Prithvi Shaw has been named in the Mumbai Probables squad for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. According to the Mumbai Cricket Association, the 23-year-old will be given a chance to score runs and get back in form.
Shaw has been in poor form in recent months, averaging just 24.80 in 12 innings for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He also failed to impress in the recent Royal London One-Day Cup, scoring just 114 runs in five innings for Middlesex.
A Mumbai selector said that the team management wants to give Shaw a chance to regain his form. "We believe that he is a quality player and we want to give him a chance to score runs and get back in form," the selector said.
The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is a domestic Twenty20 cricket tournament in India. It is scheduled to run from 11th October to 5th November.
