Orange Struggle at Home Against Hawks

Syracuse's women's basketball team suffered a disappointing 84-70 home loss to Saint Joseph's on Sunday afternoon. The Orange were outplayed by the Hawks in all facets of the game, shooting just 37.5% from the field to Saint Joseph's 50%. Syracuse also committed 20 turnovers, leading to 22 points for the Hawks.

Slow Start Dooms Orange

Syracuse struggled out of the gate, falling behind 10-0 in the first four minutes of the game. The Orange never recovered from that early deficit, as Saint Joseph's led by double digits for the majority of the contest.

Edwards Leads Orange in Defeat

Dyaisha Fair led the Orange with 20 points, followed by Teisha Hyman with 16 points and Asia Strong with 14 points. However, it wasn't enough to overcome a strong performance from Saint Joseph's.

Hawks' Balanced Attack Too Much for Syracuse

Saint Joseph's had five players score in double figures, led by Jada Moore's 23 points. Katie Jekot added 19 points, while Eriel Jones scored 17 points, Laura Ziegler had 14 points, and Talya Brugler chipped in 10 points.

The Hawks' balanced attack was too much for Syracuse to handle, as the Orange were unable to contain any one player.

Syracuse Falls to 1-4 in ACC Play

The loss drops Syracuse to 1-4 in ACC play this season. The Orange will look to bounce back on Thursday when they host Pittsburgh.

Saint Joseph's improves to 2-3 in ACC play with the win. The Hawks will next play on Wednesday when they host Virginia Tech.
