Scheyer on Duke's cramping: 'We've got to figure it out'

Blue Devils coach calls situation 'concerning' after third game with cramps in six days

'We've got to figure it out,' Scheyer says. 'It's something we'll continue to monitor.'

Duke coach Jon Scheyer expressed concern over his team's continued cramping issues, with three players experiencing cramps in Saturday's loss to Wake Forest, marking the third game in six days where cramping has affected the Blue Devils.

Jeremy Roach, Dariq Whitehead, and Kyle Filipowski all cramped up during the game, with Roach needing to leave the game briefly in the second half. Roach returned and played the rest of the game.

Scheyer said the cramping is "concerning" and that the team needs to "figure it out." He said the team is working with the medical staff to determine the cause of the cramping and to find ways to prevent it.

"We've got to figure it out," Scheyer said. "It's something we'll continue to monitor. We're working with our medical staff to try to figure out what's going on and what we can do to prevent it."

Duke has a quick turnaround, as they host Louisville on Monday night. Scheyer said he is hopeful that the cramping issues will not affect his team in that game.

"We've got to get ready for Louisville," Scheyer said. "We've got to make sure we're doing everything we can to prevent cramps from happening again."
