The Syracuse Orange women’s basketball team defeated the Saint Joseph’s Hawks men’s basketball team in an exhibition game.
The Orange won the game 83-72, led by 22 points from senior guard Kiara Lewis.
Lewis was 9-of-16 from the field and 4-of-6 from 3-point range, also adding 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
Syracuse Orange women’s basketball team dominates in the paint
The Orange also got a big performance from junior center Kamilla Cardoso, who had 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Cardoso was a force on the inside, repeatedly getting easy buckets in the paint.
The Orange outrebounded the Hawks 30-22, dominating the battle in the paint.

The Orange also got solid contributions from their bench. Senior guard Amaya Finklea-Guity had 12 points and 3 assists, while sophomore guard Teisha Hyman added 9 points and 4 rebounds.

The win is a good sign for the Orange, who are looking to bounce back from a disappointing 15-8 season last year.
The Orange will open their regular season on November 9th against the Colgate Raiders.
