Syracuse Women’s Basketball Shifts Focus to Defense
Orange Give Up 84 Points in Consecutive Games
After allowing 84 points in consecutive games, the Syracuse women's basketball team is shifting its focus to defense.
The Orange gave up a season-high in points in an 84-68 loss to No. 18 Louisville on Sunday. Syracuse also allowed 84 points in an 84-72 loss to No. 21 Notre Dame.
Defense Has Been a Problem All Season
The Orange have struggled defensively all season, allowing opponents to shoot 45.3% from the field, which ranks 290th in the country.
Syracuse has also struggled to defend the 3-point line, allowing opponents to shoot 36.4% from beyond the arc, which ranks 311th in the country.
Orange Hope to Improve on Defensive End
The Orange hope to improve on the defensive end in their next game against Boston College on Thursday.
Syracuse will need to be more disciplined on defense and communicate better, especially when defending the 3-point line.
