Trade mission on to Germany: Pillen to speak at EuroTier cattle and pig event
A delegation of government officials and agribusiness leaders from South Australia will head to Germany next week to promote the state’s world-class livestock industry.
The group will be led by Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development David Basham and will include representatives from the Department of Primary Industries and Regions, Meat and Livestock Australia, and a number of South Australian livestock producers.
The delegation will attend EuroTier, one of the world’s leading trade fairs for animal production, which will be held in Hanover from November 15-18.
Mr Basham said EuroTier was an important opportunity to showcase South Australia’s livestock industry to a global audience.
“South Australia is home to some of the world’s best livestock producers, and we are proud to be able to showcase our industry at EuroTier,” Mr Basham said.
“This event provides us with a unique opportunity to connect with potential customers and investors from around the world.”
The delegation will also meet with German government officials and industry leaders to discuss opportunities for collaboration.
Mr Basham said the trade mission was part of the South Australian Government’s strategy to grow the state’s livestock industry.
“We are committed to supporting our livestock producers to grow their businesses and create jobs in regional South Australia,” Mr Basham said.
The South Australian livestock industry is worth more than $2 billion to the state’s economy and employs more than 10,000 people.
