The Wildcats are 25-15 all-time against the Hawks and have won four of the last five meetings.
Saint Joseph's, which won 24 games last season and finished second in the Atlantic 10 Conference, is led by senior guard Ryan Daly.
Daly, a 6-foot-1 guard from Philadelphia, is averaging 18.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game.
The Hawks also have a talented frontcourt, led by 6-foot-10 junior forward Taylor Funk.
Funk is averaging 13.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
Villanova is led by junior guard Collin Gillespie.
Gillespie is averaging 14.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.
