Gallup, NM - Emergency responders are currently investigating a potential explosion that occurred near downtown Gallup on Tuesday morning. The blast, which shook nearby buildings and sent debris flying, has prompted authorities to cordon off the area and initiate an investigation.
Initial reports indicate that the explosion occurred in an alleyway between two commercial buildings on West Coal Avenue, just off of Historic Route 66. Witnesses reported hearing a loud boom around 10:30 am, followed by smoke and flames rising from the area.
