Florida State basketball will face Tarleton State on Saturday in their final non-conference game before ACC play begins next week. The Seminoles are coming off a 94-61 win over Mercer on Tuesday night, while Tarleton State is 6-1 on the season.
Tarleton State Texans Preview
The Texans are one of seven Division I teams with just one loss this season. They are coming off a 65-56 win over Texas A&M-Commerce on Wednesday night. Tarleton State is led by senior guard Montre Gipson, the reigning SWAC Player of the Year. Gipson is averaging 16.6 points per game this season. Sophomore forward Shaq Calhoun is also averaging in double figures for the Texans, at 14.3 points per game, and leads the team with 8.7 rebounds per game.
Florida State Seminoles Preview
Florida State is looking to remain undefeated at home this season. The Seminoles are 7-0 at the Donald L. Tucker Center this season and have not lost a home game since February 26, 2022, against NC State. Sophomores Matthew Cleveland and Caleb Mills lead the Seminoles in scoring, averaging 15.9 and 15.6 points per game, respectively. Graduate student Darin Green Jr. is averaging 11.4 points per game and leads the team with 5.0 rebounds per game.
