Heat Reveal Tyler Herro’s Official Injury Report Status vs Pistons
Tyler Herro Injured Against Pistons. Will He Play Wednesday?
Miami Heat shooting guard Tyler Herro suffered an ankle injury in the third quarter of Tuesday's game against the Detroit Pistons. Herro was driving to the basket when he stepped on the foot of Pistons center Isaiah Stewart and rolled his ankle. He immediately went down in pain and had to be helped off the court. The Heat announced that Herro would not return to the game, and he is now listed as day-to-day with a right ankle sprain.
Herro’s Injury Update
After the game, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said that Herro's ankle was "sore" but that he was "moving around okay." Spoelstra said that the Heat would re-evaluate Herro on Wednesday morning and make a decision on his status for the team's game against the Boston Celtics that night.
If Herro is unable to play against the Celtics, it would be a big blow to the Heat. Herro is averaging 20.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game this season, and he is one of the team's most important players. The Heat are already without Jimmy Butler (knee) and Kyle Lowry (hamstring), so they can ill-afford to lose another key player.
Heat’s Upcoming Schedule
The Heat have a tough stretch of games coming up, including matchups against the Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks, and Philadelphia 76ers. If Herro is out for an extended period of time, it could make it difficult for the Heat to keep pace in the Eastern Conference standings.
