Japan Masters 2024: Full list of players who have withdrawn from BWF 500 tournament
Viktor Axelsen, Tai Tzu Ying and Lee Zii Jia among big names to pull out of Japan Masters 2024
Several top players have withdrawn from the Japan Masters 2024, a BWF 500 tournament scheduled to be held from January 24-29 in Tokyo.
The most notable withdrawals include reigning world champion Viktor Axelsen of Denmark, world number one Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei, and world number two Lee Zii Jia of Malaysia.
Axelsen has been struggling with an ankle injury since the World Championships in August and has not played since then. Tai Tzu Ying is also recovering from an injury, while Lee Zii Jia has cited a need to rest and prepare for the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.
