Doncic Leads Mavs to Victory Over New Orleans Pelicans
Luka Doncic continues to prove why he is one of the most exciting young players in the NBA. The Dallas Mavericks star recorded a 34-point, 15-rebound double-double in a 111-97 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night.
Doncic was efficient from the field, shooting 11-of-18 (61.1%). He also dished out 8 assists and had 3 steals.
The 23-year-old is averaging 34.0 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 8.7 assists per game this season. He is one of only two players in the NBA averaging at least 30 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists per game, joining Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets.
Doncic's performance against the Pelicans was his sixth 30-point game of the season. He has also recorded four 40-point games and one 50-point game.
The Mavericks are now 12-12 on the season, which is good for fifth place in the Western Conference. They will be back in action on Thursday night when they host the Boston Celtics.
