Phil Parkinson drops Wrexham lineup claim as 'dangerous' player surely set to start v Port Vale
Parkinson insists 'no decisions' have been made over his starting lineup
But admits Ollie Palmer is 'very, very close' to a first start in nine games
Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson has insisted 'no decisions' have been made over his starting lineup for the visit of Port Vale.
But the Reds boss admitted that striker Ollie Palmer is 'very, very close' to a first start in nine games.
Palmer came off the bench to score a dramatic late equaliser in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Altrincham.
And the former Mansfield frontman could be handed a starting berth against Vale as Parkinson looks to freshen up his side.
"No decisions have been made," said Parkinson.
"We have got a few little niggles and knocks so we will have to see how the lads are in the morning.
"But Ollie is very, very close to starting a game.
"He has been excellent in training and he deserves his chance.
"He came on and made a big impact on Saturday, so he is definitely in contention."
Parkinson also revealed that midfielder Jordan Davies is a doubt for the game after picking up a knock in training.
"Jordan has got a bit of a tight hamstring," said Parkinson.
"We will have to see how he is in the morning, but it is a doubt at the moment."
Port Vale will provide a tough test for Wrexham, who have won just one of their last six games.
The Valiants are currently 11th in the League Two table, five points behind Wrexham.
But Parkinson is confident that his side can get back to winning ways.
"Port Vale are a good side, they have got some good players," said Parkinson.
"But we are at home and we need to make sure that we are on the front foot from the start.
"We need to create chances and take them, and if we do that then I am confident that we can get the win."
